Merchant Credit Card Law

MerchantCreditCardLaw.com was created to provide information about the essential connection between businesses and the merchant credit card acquiring community.

Credit cards are a vital form of payment for goods and services in today's sophisticated economy. Accordingly, a significant number of merchants transact virtually their entire business volume through credit card acceptance (particularly MasterCard and Visa) processed through Merchant Accounts held at Acquiring Banks and set up by Independent Sales Organizations (ISO) or Member Service Providers (MSP). Therefore, events such as a merchant being listed on the TMF, (Terminated Merchant File) now called "MATCH," could completely destroy a merchant's ability to survive in today's credit-driven economy.

The law, regulations & guidelines which apply to merchant credit card transactions can often be obscure, elusive and ill-defined at best. To address the particularly unique needs of the Merchant BankCard Industry. MerchantCreditCardLaw.com's objective is to provide information to help resolve many of the issues which disrupt the Merchant's ability to accept credit cards and the ISO's/MSP's ability to establish accounts for Acquiring Banks.
